Protective Styling- Box Braids It Is!!

I have been on a no heat diet for at least 3 months.  My hair regimen, as of lately, has consisted of twists, and twist outs in the midst of random 2 braid hair days.  By the way 2 braids, French, Goddess, or what have you, is an excellent go-to hair day when you can't figure out what to do with those kinky tresses.  1-2 times per week, the twists can be time consuming but my goal has been to nourish my hair and lock in the moisture.  I have noticed my hair is softer with less shedding.  I am still using the same products in the process as mentioned in my 2 strand twist entry.  Now, I am in need of a break and I have decided on box braids.  It's been at least 6 months since I have had braids.  Typically I will get braids 2x out of the year.  Not too often as to cause breakage, as we have all seen around the edges and so forth.  I don't leave them in for an extensive amount of time either, which also causes breakage.  4-6 weeks max for me, and that's pushing it.  Throughout this duration I will continue to spray my hair with leave in conditioner as well as a Jamaican mango lime sproil, (spray oil), which happens to be one of my favorite products.  It does contain mineral oil which is a controversial ingredient but.....  I get that "working," tingling feeling once used, and my scalp isn't flaky with build-up caused by everyday usage.  I wrap my hair with a silk scarf each night and tuck the braids in a bonnet.
